The CNESF Sporting Clays is the Cardinal Newman Education Scholarship Fund Foundation’s annual gathering on the course. Shooters, sponsors, and lunch guests spend the morning on a 15-station layout in Okeechobee, then sit down to lunch, a silent auction, and a short awards program. Every registration and gift is directed to need-based scholarships so Cardinal Newman students can remain in a school that already knows their name.
Net proceeds underwrite tuition assistance. Awards are made through the Foundation’s scholarship program; the tournament is a fundraiser, not a school-operated event.

The reason
Many people talk about raising money to provide scholarships to get students into Catholic Colleges and Universities but most of these educational institutions are well funded with plenty of money set aside for student scholarships. The problem is getting students into Catholic High Schools. Families have made the commitment to send their children to Catholic Parochial Schools, but many don’t go due to the cost of tuition. That is why we have started the Cardinal Newman High School Scholarship Fund.

The course
A 100-target sporting clays round on the Complex’s automated 15-station layout. Rental shotguns are available (please call in advance to reserve) and ammo is available for purchase on site.
